Gallery Collaborations

Maki Fine Arts was founded in the fall of 2010 by director Takahiro Maki and has been operating for 12 years. The gallery is currently located in the Kagurazaka neighborhood in Tokyo, Japan, and has been showcasing an artist’s distinguished approach and unique take on issues involving the medium and surface layer that are presented through painting, photography, and three-dimensional art. Maki Fine Arts has presented works by Japanese artists such as Yoshio Shirakawa, Yasuko Toyoshima, and Fuminao Suenaga. In 2019, the gallery showed works by American artist Alex Dodge in his first solo show in Japan. The gallery has also become a venue for artist-curated shows, offering a space where artists, curators, and art critics are able to collaborate and work on experimental projects.

Klaus von Nichtssagend Gallery opened as an artist-run project space in Williamsburg, Brooklyn in the fall of 2004. Run by three owner/directors, Sam Wilson, Ingrid Kennedy, and Rob Hult, the fictitiously named gallery initially focused on emerging artists having their first shows in New York City. After moving to Manhattan in 2011, the gallery expanded its operations and developed the careers of those artists it had nurtured early on, while inviting established mid-career artists to its roster. In 2022 the gallery relocated to a new space at 87 Franklin Street in Tribeca and continues to expand its programming while supporting the artists it has worked with since its inception.
